Unfortunate Delay

It was an unfortunate delay in our progress on the barn. The kind of delay I try to avoid at all cost. Matt got sick.  Real sick. I was scared.  It is hard to watch your big, strong man become so weak and helpless. However, if you try, you can almost always find the silver lining in any situation. Matt finally got to rest. Not because he wanted to but because he had to. Matt is a hard man to slow down but everyone needs to slow down and rest at some point. I had to take Matt to the urgent care and our little Iman wanted to make sure he was right there by Matt’s side, as Matt had been for him just months before when he had his tonsils taken out.  Iman stuck out the long wait to see the doctor patiently and tried to distract Matt when they took blood (Matt is a big weenie when it comes to needles 😉 ).  Oh how my heart swelled to watch him show so much love and care for his daddy. That for sure was my silver lining.

Matt is doing better and of course back out there working on the pole barn.  We just had the last bit of dirt and gravel we needed delivered today.  Well, I think it is the last bit but Matt may find we need more. 🙂  Who knows, but praise God for healing and for a family who deeply loves each other.  I saw a saying on instagram the other day that said “Wouldn’t it be a shame if you were having a wonderful life and didn’t notice?” – Michael Neill.  What a humbling thought.  I hope that I always soak in these sweet and tender moments and remember to be thankful in all situations and continue to look for that silver lining.
